The mayor of Dénia, as president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation of the Valencian Community, has signed an agreement this morning with different cultural entities of Dénia and the Marina Alta to link them to the complementary activities of the 'Dénia Festival of the Humanities'.

The representatives of the Cultural Association of the Marina Alta MACMA, José Ramiro, the Institute of Regional Studies of the Marina Alta (IECMA), Rosa Seser, the Musical Artistic Association of Dénia, Robert Frau, La Marina Lindy Hop, Ana Oliete and the Tenor Cortis Conservatory, Carles Poquet, attended the signing ceremony held in the plenary hall of Dénia City Hall.

Through this agreement, cultural entities are involved in the dissemination of activities, in addition to enabling complementary activities to the offer of conferences; the one known as “festival off”. The intention is that the cultural activities are not limited to the spaces set up for the festival sessions -the Social Center and the Androna multi-space-, but that the streets are filled with music and dance, and those interested in art and literature can enjoy exhibitions and specialized talks. The mayor stressed that "the festival does not end on October 29, but has a vocation for continuity throughout the year."

Grimalt has also highlighted the work of the entities that "out of appreciation for our region work every day to guarantee citizens a cultural offer". On the other hand, Ramiro, the president of the MACMA, has expressed the great opportunity that this cultural event represents to "give an impressive added value to the region", an appointment, he trusts, that will make Dénia "the focus of Mediterranean thought and European.”

This cultural agreement is added to the one already signed with the Rafael Chirbes Foundation.
