Santiago Alba

Writer and essayist. He studied philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid. He was a scriptwriter in the eighties for the legendary television program La bola de cristal and has published some fifteen books on politics, philosophy and literature, as well as three stories for children and a play. Since 1988 he has lived in the Arab world and has translated the Egyptian poet Naguib Surur and the Iraqi novelist Mohammed Jydair into Spanish. His latest books are Penúltimos días (Los libros de la catarata, 2016), Ser o no ser (un cuerpo) (Seix Barral, 2017), Todo el pasado por adelante (Los libros de la catarata, 2017). He regularly contributes to different media outlets (Público, Cuarto Poder, CTXT and Atlántica XXII, among others).
