Remedios Zafra
Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the CSIC. Her lines of research are oriented to the critical study of contemporary culture, the politics of identity in networks, feminism and the transformations of creative work in network culture. Her essay work has been awarded important prizes, including the Anagrama Essay Prize in 2017 for Enthusiasm. Precariousness and Creative Work in the Digital Age, which also won the Critical State Award that same year. In 2013 she won the El Público Literature Prize and the Malaga Essay Prize for her book (h)adas. Mujeres que crean, programan, prosumen, teclan. Previously, her work has been distinguished with other awards such as the Communication Award of the Association of Women Journalists of Catalonia in 2010, the Caja Madrid International Essay Prize 2004, the Research Prize of the Leonor de Guzmán Chair in 2001 and the Carmen de Burgos National Essay Prize in 2000. In 2014 she won the Meridiana Culture Award from the Andalusian Institute of Women for her professional career. In addition to those already mentioned, she is the author of the books Los que miran (2016), Ojos y capital(2015), Despacio (2012), Un cuarto propio conectado (2010), Lo mejor (no) es que te vayas (2007) and Netianas (2005). She has been editor of Ciberfeminismo. From VNS Matrix to Laboria Cuboniks (2019) and X0y1 essays on gender and cyberspace (2010). Accredited as a professor of Arts and Humanities since 2019. Since 2018 she has been a member of the board of trustees of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation).
