Nadia Muraveva

Writer, poet, journalist and translator. She has translated the poetry of Chesterton, Walter de la Mare, A. E. Housman, Miguel Hernández, Pedro Salinas, Paul Goodman, Eduardo Carranza and San Juan de la Cruz. She was born in Moscow in 1970. She spent a few years in Colombia where she translated Colombian poetry. From 1992 to the present, she has worked as a private Spanish teacher. For a long time she cooperated with Nezavisimaya Gazeta (The Independent Newspaper) of Moscow, working in the literary supplement Ex-libris as a literary critic. She published her first novel Maya in 2005, then the novel Odigitria (2012), La casa grande (2015) and the book of poems Cármenes. In 2022 she had to flee from her country because of her opposition to the war against Ukraine.
