Javier Goma

Writer and philosopher. Since 2003 he has directed the Juan March Foundation. He has a doctor in Philosophy, with a double degree in Classical Philology and Law. He is also a lawyer from the Council of State, on leave of absence since 2007. For his first book, Imitation and experience, he won the National Literature Prize in the Essay category in 2004. This work, together with Achilles in the gynoecium, Public exemplarity and Necessary but impossible, make up his "Tetralogy of exemplarity", collected together in two editions (2014 and 2019). . His short essays have been collected in Mundane Philosophy. Complete Microessays(2016). He is a patron of the Teatro Real and a member of the Advisory Council of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation. His latest book is Universal Concrete. Method, ontology, pragmatics and poetics of exemplarity (Taurus, 2023).
